Ooh La La
Notre Dame Cathedral and of course La Tour Eiffel
Paris, France December 31 2017 – Jan 5 2018
Henri Mancini’s lyrics tell it all “When people speak of Gay Paree – They think that when they say Paree is gay, they mean that gay Paree is gay;” Paris is so gay, I mean everyone is gay, the frommagier, the boulangier, the crepier, the museum staff, the baristas and even the mattress store owners. This city is so gay, there is no need to make the yuletide gay here, it’s a given. There is a reason why it is happy, people don’t seem to care. They care, but about the bigger picture. I spoke to a lot of locals in 5 days and all of them are enjoying life, and have an appreciation for what they have and what they do. Maybe they were looking for a bigger tip, not sure, but they all seemed so happy. The city of lights is that and more – it does not disappoint. I like it here, I like the positive energy, the buzz, the attitude, both good and bad, the food and wine, the art and music, strolling in the streets and the ease of the metro. I like the architecture and history. I like the lights. I like the coffee and I don’t drink coffee, I like the shopping and I don’t shop. I like the mattresses and I didn’t sleep. Who cares, I am in Paris.
This place was around the corner from the apartment. I guess it’s in my blood. Gorgeous mattresses made locally. Check them out.
And this place was around the other corner!
SET UP
MATTRESS
I was not expecting much as it was a rented apartment, and that’s what I got. Basic foam mattress, all 6″ of it, it did have some air vents which is a nice touch to allow some air flow. It was not warm at all, but it was on the firmer side. Really who cares, I am in Paris.
